A Disability Grant is a local grant that, if awarded, can help towards the cost of adapting a home to enable you to continue to live there comfortably. Disability grants are paid when your local council considers that changes are required to meet your needs, and that the work is reasonably priced.

Disability Installations for Colchester, Essex & East Anglia
I have sound knowledge of disability installations especially as i have my mum who has been in a wheelchair half of her life and at 45 it's a long time. Our bungalow has been totally re-designed and finished to a high standard to enable the wheelchair user to get to any electrical appliance, switch or socket and have a specially designed disabled kitchen and bathroom.
The kitchen has installed a special rise and fall unit to enable the wheelchair user to wash up and cook with just a push of the button, as you can see from the photos the 2 different positions the table can be raised and lowered to, this enables the kitchen to be used by EVERYBODY and can be fully functional at all times. The table consists of flexable wireing and plumbing and should be installed by a trained electrician like myself. The kitchen also has a special cooker to enable the wheelchair user and other people use it.
The bathroom has a shower room/wet room with the correct shower unit which should be thermostatically controlled but again this is done to a high standard and looks as any other bathroom and is fully functional for eveyone - but again this sort of work for the shower must be carried out by a qualified electrician (Please see my Qualifications on the Home page).
I also have raised and lowered a lot of sockets and light switchs and installed a lot of special switches for disabled and wheelchair users to make everday tasks much easier. I can carry out alot of disabled adaptions as well as the electrical installations because of my vast experience and knowledge.
